Terms and Conditions for SHOE Internships
Effective Date: October 28, 2024
This document outlines the terms and conditions for internships offered by Study Hall Online Emporium (SHOE), LLC. By applying for or accepting an internship position, the intern agrees to comply with the following terms:
1. Purpose of the Internship
The internship program is designed to provide educational and professional development opportunities for high school and college students. SHOE aims to equip interns with entrepreneurial, administrative, and operational skills relevant to e-commerce and community engagement initiatives.
2. Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for an internship, applicants must:
- Be at least 16 years old (parental consent required for minors under 18).
- Be enrolled in a high school (homeschool or private), college, or university.
- Demonstrate an interest in entrepreneurship, e-commerce, or related fields.
3. Internship Duration
- Internships are offered for a fixed duration (i.e. school year), typically ranging from August to May.
- Extensions may be granted upon mutual agreement between SHOE and the intern.
4. Intern Responsibilities
- Complete assigned tasks and projects in a timely and professional manner.
- Attend all scheduled meetings, training sessions, and workshops.
- Maintain confidentiality concerning SHOE’s operations, strategies, and customer information.
- Adhere to SHOE’s policies, including workplace conduct and ethical guidelines.
5. SHOE’s Responsibilities
- Provide a structured learning environment, including training, mentorship, and support.
- Assign meaningful tasks that contribute to the intern’s skill development.
- Evaluate and provide feedback on the intern’s performance.
6. Compensation and Benefits
- SHOE internships are currently unpaid. If paid, compensation details will be outlined in the offer letter.
- Interns may receive academic credit or a certificate of completion, subject to their educational institution’s approval.
7. Confidentiality and Intellectual Property
- Interns must not disclose confidential information obtained during their internship.
- Any work created during the internship becomes the property of SHOE unless otherwise agreed in writing.
8. Termination of Internship
- SHOE reserves the right to terminate the internship at any time for reasons including, but not limited to, misconduct, poor performance, or violation of these terms.
- Interns may terminate their participation with 2 weeks’ written notice to SHOE.
9. Health and Safety
SHOE is committed to providing a safe and supportive work environment. Interns are expected to adhere to all health and safety guidelines.
10. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from the internship will be resolved through mediation, governed by the laws of the State of Texas.
11. Acknowledgment and Acceptance
By participating in the SHOE internship program, the intern acknowledges and agrees to these terms and conditions.
